Outdoor Venueswatch this space! Loads more ideas are on their way..... Let's start north of the bridge......
Bradley's Head Ampitheatre, Bradley's Head Just a few minutes past the zoo.... It's quiet, it's open, there are stone seats for your guests in the ampitheatre and you have unobstructed views of the harbour. Stunning and perfect if you want the iconic Sydney landmarks for your photos. No shade, though......
Balmoral Beach, Mosman Beautiful Balmoral! The rotunda is available for hire, as is Rocky Point Island, and the park reserve. Busy on a summer's day, parking is never easy, but the beach is beautiful, the views are lovely and the park is full of seagulls! Very pretty for photos, too.
Clifton Gardens Reserve, Mosman This park is secluded and grassy, right on the foreshore with views across to the eastern suburbs. There's a harbour pool, sandy beach and marquees are permitted. Parking is usually easy - but the rangers do patrol, so pay for your ticket!
Lucinda Park, Palm Beach Right at the end of Nabilla Road, on the Pittwater side - this little park is virtually deserted. A row of row boats down the side makes for great photo opportunities, as do the views of Pittwater, onto Mackerel Beach.
Lady Wendy Whiteley's Secret Garden, Lavender Bay Right below Clark Park, and down towards the water is this treasure. This garden is beautiful, absolutey beautiful - but the access is not great. Parking is limited and it is a nightmare for decorators to set up. Highly recommended for a small group , and wonderul for photos with its views from the upper garden, and its private tropical garden feel, as you go further in.
Swain Gardens, Killara OK, so what if we head west of the city?
Auburn Botanic Gardens - Japanese Garden This is beautiful. And serene. And absolutely immaculately tended. Don't be surprised if a peacock or two come to visit - or if koi carp jump out of the water. Plenty of flat space for a ceremony. Fantastic background for photos. Good parking. Perfect. |
