I believe in Marriage Equality. Marriage should be for everyone.
I don’t believe that there is – or there should be – any difference. Why should a marriage between two loving partners be classified as a marriage – or a gay marriage?
It is hard enough in this world to find the right person for you – and when you do – it shouldn’t matter if you are gay or straight. Love is love.
I – like so many others – and no doubt you, too – look forward to the day that we stop talking about it – and just go ahead and do it. It will happen. One day.
US Supreme Court Justice Kennedy captured what marriage really should mean to us all when announcing the decision that legalised marriage equality in the United States.
He said that :
No union is more profound than marriage, for it embodies the highest ideals of love, fidelity, devotion, sacrifice and family. In forming a marital union, two people become something greater than once they were.
Let’s do that, huh?
